From the NSX FAQ on NSXPrime:
Which Color Is Fastest?
(Note: This theory may not stand up to rigerous scientific analysis...)
[BP] Actually, red paint is lighter per gallon than any other color except yellowbecause the pigment is lighter. Some yellow paints have a metallic finish which would then make it heavier than red. In the case of Spa Yellow, it does have metallic, so RED wins!

Am I missing something here? It's not a matter of which cars look good in which colours, it's a matter of which is the fastest colour. And everyone knows that red is the fastest, which is why Ferraris are red.

Come on guys you should all know this. Basic school physics. It's all to do with the wavelength of the visible light spectrum. Every electromagnetic wave exhibits a unique frequency, and the wavelength associated with that frequency. If we take two colours at the opposite ends of the spectrum, red and blue. The colour red has a wavelenth of about 700 nanometers, blue about 450 nanometers. So a red car has a longer wavelength than a blue car. This will mean that every second you look at the car you will receive the freqency associated with that colour. Blue is a faster freqency so for a given time frame you will see it more times than a red colour.
So that means if you take two identical cars driving past you one after the other at identical speeds. One car red, the other car blue, the red car will appear to be faster. It's a proven scientific fact. It's also the reason why Ferrari chose red as their primary colour.
Oh, and black isn't actually a colour, it's just an absense of any wavelength from the electromagnetic spectrum.
