Is Scalextric worth it? will my 8 r old enjoy it for more than a nano-sec considering he loves Crash Team Racing on PS1? The RMS system looks the dogs,but...............has Scalextric had its time? would be interested hearing from anyone who has made a humungous track,at least 20mtrs,and has that made it better?

scalextric is still the best thing ever! Had a track that took over the entire top floor of my parents house, using a clever sequence of mirrors and bridges to allow the use of 4 rooms and a few of the stairs!!!! Was the best fun ever, esp when pissed wi a few mates until mum had enough of it! needed a couple of marshalls trackside tho

ps2 is fun when no mates are about but def scalextric otherwise, used to spend mega hours on it wi my dad! Wait til the start of summer for the kite or rc car, they're next best. Although places to fly kite and battery life on an rc car are a prob! (mucho fun n snow and ice right enough tho)

sorry sturge, yeah, see your point, also teaches kids a bit about assemble, engineering etc, without turning him into a geeky hornby train collector

Blimey, bound to upset someone now!!!
