Now why couldn't it have been that temperature on track earlier.... Just been out this eve (10:30) and its nice and cool air - car pulling like a train. Much noticeably faster than in the warm earlier.

Time for a new intercooler maybe hehehe

bikes (and cars) always 'go better' in the cool air of the evening. I believe it's the increased moisture.

It's not increased moisture - it's the colder air. It's denser when cold and hence there's more oxygen for the engine to breathe
