Exclamation

Found some very interesting ICE(DVD,monitors,MP3 players) parts in Ebay from companies based in Hong Kong. They are WELL cheap and was wondering if anyone has bought anything from such a company.

There are many companies willing to export. I've bought stuff in the past but I wouldn't endorse it, it's not without risk.

Import tax and VAT is like a lottery sometimes it just seems to slip through and other times you pay it. From what I remember the the UK duty is 17.5% (VAT) plus 8% excise duty which is levied on the full figure.

be careful depending on what section of electronics it fits into you could end up paying upto 40% import duty.

look on the customs and excise web site for more details.
