DVD Playback problem??
#1
I have just received my latest batch of Region 1 DVD's from Amazon. They are LOTR - The Two Towers, The Bourne Identity, Road to Perdition and Gangs of New York.
The only problem is that the The Two Towers main disc does not play on my DVD player, the extras disc however does. The other DVDs in that batch are all okay.
I have about 80 plus DVDs and the only other problem I have is with the extras disc on Daredevil but this is a Region 2 disc. There seems to be no commom denominator.
I doubt it is Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE) as the extras disc plays on The Two Towers,
My DVD machine is a multi-regional Philips DVDR-880 recorder.
Can anybody shed any light on my problem???
Cheers,
Craig.

To check if it is an RCE issue manualy set the player to R1 not auto select and see if that works, other than that m8 it could be the disc has a weird set up and is conflicting with the software in your player, the matrix dvd was a pain in the **** when first released and many players would not read the disc due to menu structures and extras, thus needing a firmware update to play !! But don't worry we have over 350 discs and only 2 "wierd" ones! matrix & the abyss special edition so there aint many dodgy discs to worry about.
