WHO GIVES A $HIT !!??
Sure as hell not me !! Why is this making one of the lead stories in the news ??
If the guy was doing a decent job then maybe I might have been slightly interested

Yes - most people in the public eye are in the news when they have children.....
This is more newsworthy because of the first loss as well.....I'm sure a lot of people will be happy for them on a personal level, regardless of their political persuasion.

It made the news mainly because they lost their last baby when it was merely hours old
Happy for them? Don't give a rat's one way or the other. Why? It ain't new, humanity has been doing this kind of thing for quite a while now.

Especially as she is 38 and he is 52, and so the chances of conception are decreasing by the month.....
ie, the chances of a 100% problem free birth/baby are a lot lower at her age.
As someone said, if you've not been there, don't comment........

I know wot it is like to loose a child or should I make that 3 and at the moment the way things are looking it's going to be 4, both myself and my wife went through the upset of the 3 last year into this year, I feel like I have lived through more in one year than most people go through in there whole life time.

Back on topic...
It IS a shame about the loss of their last baby (at 10 days, wasnt it?) but the main reason it made the news is because of who he is, not because they lost a child.
As sad as it is
Many people lose babies but mere mortals dont get frontpage headlines telling the world about it.
I hope they're very happy with the new bundle of joy.

Yes, but "famous" people having problems with conception/birth/etc help to highlight any issues that the population in general may be having......
ie, raise awareness of the issues. I know for a fact that Sarah Macauly AND Gordon Brown have actively helped out in Scotland with awareness of similar issues they faced last year.

I know it has been said before but unless you have experienced the heartache of having then losing a child, regardless of what position you hold, then flippant comments hold no water at all. This is much a human interest story made relevant by someone everyone is familiar with.
His wife has helped raise a fortune for premature birth research and charities. Credit where credit is due!
