Diamond Head is Brian Tatler, who is currently round at a mate's house dealing with the latest bits & bobs on his Diamond Head website. Met him a few times over the years - nice bloke, brilliant guitarist.

Jerry* - you might find this site interesting, if you like Diamond Head.

The guy who runs the web site is a member of ScoobyNet, though he's got a Volvo!

Sweet Home Alabama, Lynard Skynard. The Old Grey Whistle Test live performance. Just when you think it can't go up yet another gear.... it does.

GnR, the intro to Sweet Child of Mine? And also the solo in it.

Showing my age; Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street. Always made me turn up the volume!

Lynyrd skynyrd solo is allen collins - and if you listen closely, he breaks a string during it (studio version) but they kept that take cos it was so good
ok - i'm the head of the table at the next dinner party for boring anecdotes :-?

Also Michael Schenker - for riffs and solos -Strangers In The Night is still one of my fave albums - most of his stuff with UFO was unique, and some good stuff with his solo stuff/MSG - also had an excellent tone and an ear for melody.

great news to hear that Brian Tatler is still about,I loved there stuff as a kid,and the artwork on the LPs is still brilliant after all these years.

so much for British Steel being the definitve NWOBHM lp,sod that,Am I Evil gets my vote

any chance of me sending my Am I Evil off and getting it signed?

well you have to try

ps sorry but Blackmore in Highway Star has to be my fave riff though and Blackmores Child In Time on MIJ is me fave solo.Memories

oh,and Strangers In The Night,Saxon, was a classic riff as well
