It's dated really badly.
This makes it all the more watchable.

Had the pleasure of meeting John Thaw when he was in the Sweeney,my first job when I left school was a telegram messenger and I went to his house at Strand on the green in Chiswick, for those of you of know it, when he answered the door, I said gor blimy it's Jack Regan, he pissed himself laughing, but he was a true gentleman.

Anyone sus out what Morse's christain name was ?? i was told all the dots & dash's at the beginning of the programme spelt it out ?

I just bought the whole series 1 on DVD from Amazon, seemed steep at thirty quid until it turned up as a box set of 4 DVDs, completely f**king awesome, if you are a sweeney fan you MUST buy this.

When ever I watch it, it certainly brings back memories for me. When they played Police radio traffic in the background, they used real Police messages, in particular Thames Valley, and I was heard on more than one occasion with my call sign Tango four five as it was then
