She hates me being on here so often, but I think she deserves congratulations for passing her practical driving test yesterday at the first attempt! Particularly as she failed the theory test four times, by a narrow margin of one question each time - and all except the first of those were in the Portuguese language, which she only started learning a year and a half ago! (It took ages to authorise a translator, who then turned out to be so bad she gave up and started doing the questions in Portuguese!)
I'd like to say congratulations for sticking at it - it's been a year since she started, and there were some very tearful moments after the third and fourth theory failures, "I'm never going to do this stupid test again" - and I can now look forward to many hours relaxing in the passenger seat (ha ha ha!!)

I was told by a reliable source that you just used to pay a bribe to get your licence. Obviously things are different up there in the big city than in the Algarve.

Thanks for congratulations for me passing my driving test after almost a year and half, even after passing I do not think that I am a good driver or to be honest I need more practice in crazy Lisbon roads with impatient Portuguese drivers. During my driving lessons with my Angolan instructors I managed to learn more Portuguese words to detest this nations driving habit. Not bad
