How do you walk your dog now?
#1
Now they have ever so cleverly turned the clock back, even if I'm lucky enough to get home for 18:30 it’s way too dark too take the pooch to the park. Is the only solution to get up 45 mins earlier – damnit that seems like no solution!
Anyone a magic wand out there, cheap nightvision goggles (OES size) or any super clever solution cos my ‘lad’ needs to run after his ball, not go for an old dogs’ amble up the lit high street…
Even really clever dick answers are very welcome as he’s desperate!

Have given up on walking ours since she went blind, having tripped me up twice and bumping into everything if I let my attention wander its just too fraught, besides she decides she has had enough sometimes and even though she only weighs two stone its a right pain.
Its not dog walking anymore, more like dog pinball, in fact we let her out the back door and trot round the garden, all the stuff in the garden has a points score allocated so we watch her and write down the score, the days fly by in our house....

If your afraid of steping on something take a torch with you?
I take a torch with me to let other dog owners know me and me dog are in the park.. he's not comfartable with other dogs and if he pulls on the lead without me being ready i land face in grass!
But torch or no torch i always take him for a walk.

Once upon a time we had a hard rubber ball with a light in it.. dog loved chasing it in the park.. But er.. it went out mid throw and we lost it and haven't found another to buy.. We do have a little flashing led that fits on dogs collar though which is useful for spotting our black mutt.

you can buy flashing ***** you attach to collars so your dog can't dissapear.
or alternatively go to an industrial estate and into one of the car parks and let your dog run there,as once the shops like homebase are closed their car parks don't get alot of traffic..and its great for the dogs claws too

Hey Diesel
Try getting some of the chemical snap lights, they last a few hours and are reasonably bright, and pretty cheap too, just snap, shake and tie to your dogs coller!
alternatively you could snap them, shake them, the cut the end off and pour it over the dog! then you will never loose him, glow in the dark dog!

I don't have a choice. I have to walk him round the block every night. Starts with him staring, then chewing my shoes with my feet still in them, then he jumps in my lap with his two front feet. The git weighs 9 stone.
Tried to lose him in the dark but he always finds his way back
Alas

LOL at some of the above
I take mine to a (fortunately) well lit walkway with a large car park at night. Plenty of bins around too for the obvious, and no traffic at that time.
Car parks are fine if their pads are hard and its great for keeping the claws trim.
I've also got a 30 foot flexi professional lead, so she can sniff around, have some freedom but always be attached.
Gives me at least 3 seconds to react and eithger start running or brace myself if she sees a rabbit or squirrel and decides to give chase

I always walk my Spaniel in the fields, or in the woods, night or day not bothered, he's not bothered by the darkness, neither am I, and he's 90% of the time off the lead

Neons, hmm....thats already been suggested.
Not everyone lives near fields tiggs.
Mine get a walk every day in the local country park. The walkway/carpark is at night only.
Car park good for training - all the parking spaces map out the ground.
