Question

When it has a US colour coding convention?

I have a US mains lead I need to put a UK plug on to, but I can't find anything on the internet to let me which colour goes where!

I've got a black, green and white wire on the lead.

Which one is the earth, neutral and live?

Thanks
Andy

The mains lead is for an AC adapter that is rated for 100-240V so that's fine!

Black = Live
White = Neutral
Green = Earth

You need to also check whether whatever the equipment is will work on our 50 Hz supply (US is 60 Hz)

Thumbs up

Thanks for the definative answer! I thought I was going to have to trawl that website given above!

The AC adapter is for a laptop, so 50-60Hz.

Cheers
Andy
