might be an issue with your ISP.

Is it failing on DNS lookup or connect?

try http://216.239.59.99/

If that works then googles record has dropped out of your ISPs DNS... if it doesn't work then you most likely have a routing problem between you/your ISP and google.

weird.... we are on easynet who use BT's network and it works ok. Try doing a trace route on it:-

at the command prompt type 'tracert www.google.com'

It should show you where its getting stuck.

it should look something like:-

[pre]
Tracing route to www.google.akadns.net [216.239.59.99]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.11
2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms [edited for security]
3 23 ms 24 ms 20 ms easynet1-hg1.ilford.broadband.bt.net [217.32.63.200]
4 23 ms 20 ms 23 ms 217.32.63.130
5 25 ms 23 ms 29 ms 217.32.63.238
6 * * 28 ms ge0-3-0-0.br0.wslon.uk.easynet.net [212.134.10.13]
7 97 ms 29 ms 38 ms ge0-0-0-0.br0.bllon.uk.easynet.net [195.172.211.209]
8 * 38 ms 35 ms ge0-2-0-0.br1.bllon.uk.easynet.net [212.135.5.130]
9 50 ms 53 ms 51 ms ge0-0-0-0.br1.tclon.uk.easynet.net [195.172.211.202]
10 34 ms 35 ms 35 ms ge0-0-0-0.er0.tclon.uk.easynet.net [195.40.4.70]
11 31 ms 32 ms 33 ms 195.66.226.125
12 40 ms 41 ms 38 ms 216.239.49.254
13 43 ms 41 ms * 216.239.49.114
14 43 ms 41 ms 42 ms 216.239.59.99

Trace complete.
