Oris watches are quite good.
There is a shop along the Strand in London called Austin Kaye. They sell pre-owned watches at good prices. You could probably pick up a good Breitling or Omega for around the £500 mark. People normally shudder at 'pre-owned' but you wouldn't know the difference in this shop!

LOL @BB.
Hmmmm £500, let me see.
You will be able to pick up a pre-owned (or second wrist), SeaMaster as in the picture(the ones in the picture IMHO are 3/4 size quartz). You will find a 3/4 size quartz for that price, but not a 3/4 or full size auto. The quartz ones are circa £800 new and £350-450 pre-owned depending on the condition. A full size auto is circa £1200 and a pre-owned £700-850.
Look on E-bay there are loads of nice bargains, beware of 'replicas'. If you see something you like post the details here, and Ill tell if its OK.
I personally would go for a pre-owned Breitling SuperOcean Professional(all are auto's), Omega SeaMaster Professional(full size are all auto's), or an Omega GMT (full size all are auto's).

Scary how many blags on E-bay....
Anyway, there is an Omega Dynamic Auto, for sale excellent watch worth a look (£311 res not met) should fetch £450-500. Will appreciate in value.
And a wierd one this, there is a Breitling Navitimer Pilot for £600 res met, but its NOT a NavPilot its a quartz JUPITOR PILOT, trust me I know. Its worth the asking price, will appreciate in value, as they stopped making it a couple of years back. I would be interested to see if you like this watch.
Youve started me off now.
Thinking of bidding on the JUPITOR PILOT......
Edited to say 'he does mention in his write up, that its a JUPITOR PILOT, but has advertised it as a NavPilot'

**BEWARE EBAY***
Loads of fakes.
There are some good watch shops in Leeds and i've recently seen a couple of s/hand Breitlings for sale in the centre.Bit over the 500 mark though, more like 7-800.
Oris,i personally wouldnt,better a s/hand quality watch than a new average watch.
Basically just keep an eye out and make sure they have recently been serviced.
What about Tudor,i saw a really nice one in Leeds at the weekend,£600 ish.
