Go to the one with Appleby's bar under it. I stayed there in August - great hotel. View over the bay, plus loads of facilities like a pool, gym, sauna etc. Heritage Hotel I think...

lol there are soo many hotels in torquay !
planning to pop down for a spot of xmas shopping there next week meself.
certainly the likes of the Grand / Imperial / Palace are worth a visit if money not too much of a problem. Imperial is the only 5 star hotels in the area so now going to be cheap ! the other 2 are 4 star.
the Grand is very nice. looking rite over the sea - get a room at the front though with sea views. imperial to has wonderful views. Palace the same overlooking antsey's cove.
check out the palace here....lol my parents had their wedding reception at the palace many yrs ago !

i thought it was very, very poor for the money, nothing like the pics. it was all very tacky. they are supposed to have an excellent restaurant, which looked very expensive, and given the decor of the place i didn't think it would be vfm.
All the staff were nice tho'
I went to Dartmouth down the coast for the evening when i was there cos TQ was so tacky ... and that was a great find, very nice pubs and restaurants.
