Frozen Shoulder

best advice for anyone with a frozen shoulder...try out Bowen therapy..there was an article in the times last week about positive results from frozen shoulder sufferers after bowen therapy, these were verified by a medical professional (not that she could explain the results..

I had an ACL reconstruction 2 years ago..had post op trouble...therapy has helped..try it may work...

The Bowen Technique is unlike any other form of hands-on therapy. There is no pulling or cracking of joints, no insertion of needles and no manipulation. The technique consists of a sequence of very precise and gentle moves over muscles and soft tissue interspersed with periods of rest in order for the treatment to be absorbed. The treatment entails no searching consultation as it is holistic (treats the whole body) and it is generally a pleasant and relaxing experience with no known adverse side effects.
Always sceptical of this type of stuff but I cant see any harm being done if they use only gentle movements etc
Perhaps try this then MUA then perhaps something more interventional

Scooby69 I was deeply skeptical about it..I was badgered into it by a friend and went along just t shut them up...had the treatmnt..very strange..therapist performs a small movement..then leaves the room ..come back in etc...but grudgingly it produced results..knee is way better and in general I feel healthier!!
Go along with an open mind and see what happens??

I think that the damage inside my shoulder wouldn't respond to any treatment like that. Whilst most Frozen Shoulders just happen/occur, mine was caused through trauma. Have had 3 cortisone jabs so far, none have made any difference, had physio too, but it worsened after having that.
Edited to say.... don't take your eyes off a loopy GSD dog on an extendable lead

If anyone's interested in Bowen my wife is a Bowen Therapist working from home here near Wokingham. If you mail me at ************ I can send you details etc.
Redkop - do I presume from your nom de plume that you're in Scouse land? A bit far to come then - even though the wife is a Scouser herself ... She does say that she gets very good results on frozen shoulders and, as someone has pointed out above, this is one area where Bowen has been studied by the more mainstream medical authorities. Also excellant for things like astma! In fact anything that you would visit a physio or chiroporactor for. The difference is it doesn't hurt ......
End of ad ........ :-)
Cheers
Dave

Reminds me of a guy called Steven Cauth (surname sp?) who does natural healing - doesnt even touch you. Apparently the gf saw him yonks ago and just by moving his hands above her body he told her exacly what was wrong with her - spooky!

Don't know about MUA, but I've had an Arthroscopy on my knee and it did the trick.
I suffered a torn cartiledge and had it sorted arthroscopically, and its fine, except on particularily cold days when it aches and gets a bit stiff. Ooh err.
I'm also on a waiting list to have my shoulder done, but not arthroscopically, its gonna be a full open procedure.
My own fault I suppose, since as a result of doing martial arts for more that half of my life, I've suffered 5 dislocations on the one shoulder! Time to go under the knife.
I totally know how you feel... shoulder problems are a complete pain in the.... well shoulder I guess!

Scooby96 - that is Stuart Korth, the owner of Korth Associates in Tunbridge Wells. Him and his staff are bloody amazing, the huge changes they made in my sons moods when he was a very young baby were just incredible. He went from a screaming baby in some discomfort to a baby that slept all through the night and was as happy as Larry after only a copuple of visits, although distinct changes were very obvious after just the first session Well worth the money it cost me as the GP was a total fcukwit who knew nothing and said they were a waste of time and said there was nothing wrong with my son (He had a ventouse delivery and his 3 bones that go on to form the skull were all locked together and causing him severe grief, nothing the NHS/GP/Hospital picked up on )
I highly recommend cranial osteopaths etc to any parents and to anyone who has a condition that GP's cant/wont do fek all about!
PS I went to them to get checked out just to see if they could do anything for my stress and how I felt after one session of pressing bits on my head, chest and back freaked the crap out of me cos its a very noticeable effect its some weird stuff they do!
