Are there any examples of a legal document being declared invalid due to the witnesses being invalid.

I dont mean a genuine fraud, i just mean someone signs a doc then (for practical reasons) gets it witnessed by someone who didnt actual see it get signed.

This could apply to anything, house deed, Will, trust, etc.

Can't answer your question but, I'd see the witness' role as verifying that the person wishes to enter into the agreement rather than being physically present when the party actually signs.
Is it invalid / fraudulent to not be present ?
