i've just got in from the local lincoln meet and to my horror 3 of my neighbours have put up christmas decortaions on there houses.
[rant mode on] for ***** sake its still fricking november, i bet you've bought easter eggs already, bunch of dog poles [rant mode off]
sorry, its just one of those things that gets under my skin.

Ours went up today ... only chance we would get until next weekend. My little girl has been so excited about seeing the lights in town that she wanted hers. It is only one day before we normally put em up. I agree xmas is getting too early in the shops but I don't think one day before december is too excessive.

Just tell all the kids that Santas not real and Christmas is just a commercial event that should be banned and im sure that most children would calm down

You think that's bad? B and Q have had all their decorations up for the last 8 weeks.

Itslike a CHristmas arms race with the retailers, if one does it and get 2.54 % extra sales in September because some saddos fall for it, they all have to do it, Manchester Airport have banned the Slade song due to public demand !
I used to like Christmas but the whole media assault just makes it cheap and tack, bloody Homebase and Argos bombarding us with advertising aimed at the absolute lowest common denominator. They should be boycotted !

I thought they werent meant to go up till 12 days before (or was it 2 weeks??). Seems a bit more sensible.
