WHY ARE SCOOBIES SO EASY TO STEAL
#1
Why are scoobies so easy to steal? As a traffic Cop we find we have them stolen so very often and used in crime. What are owners doing to safeguard their pride and joy? Are they the most easy car in the world to nick?

think you find now that the majority of stolen scoobs are in fact more difficult to steal, so that now the scum tend to kick in house doors looking for keys.
damn easy to steal a car when you have the keys in your hand.

Because the theiving little t*wts are breaking in to our houses to steal the keys. They are not easy cars to steal, but the insurance companies make us have such good security, that the only way for them to steal the cars is with the use of keys. Being a copper I thought you might have known this. And yes this did happen to me and many others.
So what are the police doing about it?

This looks like either a wind-up or a toe rag on the hunt for info to me.

We find 'we' have them stolen, this 'phrase' implies personal ownership i.e. the cops themselves are having 'their' cars stolen.
What are owners doing to safeguard their pride and joy? Are they the most easy car in the world to nick?
To me this says tell me how you protect your cars so I can learna few tricks about stealing them.

that is the real problem no matter how secure a car is they will steal it if they want it
as said above they are not easy to steal

I wonder now if he reads this he might tell his m8's to put more of a priority on burglaries then. My parents waited a day and a half till the police arrived after they had been broken into, and of course they just laughed when my dad mentioned finger printing

Sorry guys, I was only asking!. Great cars, (I would like to have one.) Was only curious as to how, other than by nicking the keys from owner's houses, the scum actually managed to take these motors. It is so frustrating to know we (The old bill) generally only get to see the tail lights as they go onwards into the night, our poor old Omega's are not a patch on these Scoobies. Or we find them with Tracker later if it has not been ripped out. Take care out there boys and girls.

We shouldn't need to protect them as we pay Taxes (Vast amounts of) for the Police to catch the criminals, therefore ensuring we can sleep safe at night and not laying awake waiting for the car thief to kick the door in waving a base ball bat in our face.

With Jye here,
looks a rather dodgy thread!
And i *could* tell what methods we use to protect our cars, but then, We'd have to kill you

Im afraid it looks like wazza2770 is the real deal, i.e. a typical copper m8. Chris pointed out he's a ZZR owner anol, and one oh me fav bikes.
Makes me despair for the UK if this is who is looking out for us tbo.

Wazza, I'm not sure if you are the real deal or not. If you are I think maybe you need to re-evaluate how you word things on this board, with only 7 posts to your name. Fair enough ask the question, but ask it without the tone and mad smillies. These indicate the mood of your thread and replies, as such it could and has been interpreted you think it's our fault our own Scoobs are going missing.

Perhaps Subarus are more desirable to theives, therefore making them more likely to be stolen, rather than being easy to steal.
There are some good security measures to prevent this. Debadging helps as it becomes very hard to tell what the car is and will less likely be the target of an Impreza-specific theft.
Perhaps a not so well known fact is that the standard impreza immobiliser can be disarmed with....Sorry Akshay67...even if it was a joke (which i think it was) you dont want to go giving people ideas now

Jye, my problems not with you here, fair enough you might have had a bad experience but try to keep an open mind.
I was actually supporting what you put as I don't like it either.

NP m8, kinda gathered that.
I got called out as key holder to a break in at our office at 4 am on thursday night, and for once the police had turned up(they never have on the three times previous), waited till I drove the 30 miles to work and then waited until I had checked the inside of the building.
Its just a pity this is such a rare occurance. I wont go into the man power thing as Im sure all these speed cameras must have freed up time somewhere.

tis true, when posting on here on issues(very sensitive in this case) you need to be carefull about how you word / ask questions.
I think we all know that plenty are being robbed, lets face it, its damn nearly the ideal get away car(4 seats, fast, big boot, easy to drive etc) however MOST people are trying there best to keep their pride and joys safe - but sometimes you just cant win. Like people have said, if someone kicks your door in and takes the keys by force ie at gun point or otherwise what more can you do?
