what's the best way to sort this out:
my brother lives with me & the missus. he's "only" 22, and there is enough room for him. however we are getting a bit hacked off with him treating the place like a fookin hotel. it's just little things on the main but today i came home to find that he had eaten one of my free range pork chops, and left all the pans etc in the sink. plus the place smelled of smoke as he hasn't mastered the art of using a grill pan. should i have serious words or am i just being a c**t? we get on well in the main, and i don't want to create a bad atmosphere by having a go, but i also don't want to just let him take the p*ss. he works for me as well, so that's another reason i don't want to start WW3. any advice gratefully received. or if anyone wants to kidnap him and hold him hostage in Aserbijan, can you contact me offline.
don't be holding your breathe for the ransom, though.

just have a word with him in private. Whatever you do dont include your partner, thats embarasing for him.
You will probably find he will tidy up his act for a few days then it will be back to normal, at which point tell him to find his own place.

Sounds a tad petty unless of course he does this regularly - however not knowing what your house rules are its difficult to say if hes taking the **** big time or not
As hes your brother im suprised you need advice on how to talk to him, if it were my brother i'd say, "oi look here tw@t - thats my food - you've got your own so leave it out, alright - and for ***** sake clear up after yourself otherwise I'll ask mummy if you can move back in with her"
Of course you could always pay him a decent wage so he can find his own place. Are there any cheap shared-digs in the area - he'll soon get house-trained that way

i know it shouldn't be a big deal but he does take the hump quite easily, and i'm the kind of person who tends not to bother mentioning stuff until i'm really annoyed and then go a bit OTT.

the missus has just got in (i was dutifully doing the washing up ) and said:
oh, i had to go for a check up this afternoon - i came home for lunch and had one of those pork chops... she even mentioned that the smoke alarm kept going off. can't imagine why that was.
i wish i had gone ballistic at my bro earlier... the poor bloke would've thought i'd well and truly lost it!
turns out all *he* did was leave the milk out of the fridge. i will be investigating that situation later.
