This is horrific, but I think people should see it...
Disturbing picture link
Sorry if it's been posted before, someone from the S2000 forum sent me the link.

It's been up here a good few times before but as the message is never going to be out of date I hope it puts someone off.
While we are on the subject what about drug driving? Seems to be ignored around the festive season and I'm not just talking about the obvious illegal drugs.

OMG that actually made me shed a tear.
That should be shown on TV all over Christmas, might stop the mindless idiots.

A relative of mine (18 yo female) was a backseat passenger in a car which was hit by a drunk female driver. The drunk driver survived and got a short prison sentence.
My relative survived, but the three other people in the same car did not.
It's not worth it, even for a short journey. Get a taxi.

I too was in the back seat of a car when a drunk hit us in the side, sending our car towards the kerb where it slowed it down quite dramatically as you can imagine, side on.
I hit the roof and broke my neck amongst other injuries.
Unlike Ozzy Osbourne I wasn't as lucky.
Don't do it, it's not worth it.

I have seen it before, BUT sadly it never seems to do anything because you will always get ONE who will do it, DON'T LET IT BE YOU!!!!!!!!!! Some of you who know me, know that I myself was nearly killed when I was hit head on by a drunk driver at over 100 mph thanks to paramedics and doctors I'm alive today, but I don't know how, Be careful out there.
Cheers

Very distrubing indeed. As said by others, it's not worth it. I will be the first to put my hands up and say that I have had one pint and then driven, I'm not trying to be big hard or clever here, just that I don't want to sound like some kind of hypocite. I've never had more than one and driven, even though I know that i am not drunk, I won't do it, I'll get a lift home, or a taxi, it seriously is not worth the risk.
The other factor to think about is the morning after a good session, most people are sensible and when pished up will walk/taxi/roll home, however, how many will, after not many hours sleep, get up, hungover, possibly still drunk, then drive to work? This is just as dangerous as you probably think you are more ok to drive than the night before.
As for drugged and driving, similar thing, just don't do it.
The sad thing here is that most of the time the drunk/drugged driver lives and it's the people they hit that die, and the pictures in the link above prove the point. Sometimes I do wonder about this fcuked up world when the innocent are made to suffer.

My brother was enarly killed by our uncle 15 years ago. Still cant look him in the eye - I feel so much contempt for him its unreal. Dont know how my parents can even talk to him let alone have him in the house as if nothing ever happened

So of course everyone will stop their mates from drinking a few more than they should???????
It just doesnt work.. I got into a punch up when i removed the keys from a mate who was drunk and wanted to drive. With him????? No his mates who thought I was a wankker and no right to stop him.

Yep have seen that B4
I think the problem is because we have a 35mg limit(?) people will ALWAYS say i can have 1/2 or 3
If we have ZERO limit then there can be NO excusses

There was a set of commercials on tarrant on tv
about drink driving they came from oz...
the one that scared the Sh*t out of me and made me as a parent cry !!! was the little boy getting wiped out by a car while playing in his back garden.
it wrecks lives,
i agree it should be a zero limit...
and more than a 12 mth ban

trouble with zero limit is drivers driving the day after....i dont mean driving legless the next day after a mad session, i mean just a .0000001% above and they are nicked.

This thread proves my point.
Drinking and driving is seen as BAAAAAAAAAD.
Speeding is not seen as BAAAAAAAD.
Both are subjective. ie, one could drink & drive 90% of the time and not cause an accident. Ditto with speeding.
Discuss.
