HELP.......
I got a 'cheapo' DVD player for the spare room, set it up and borrowed a DVD from my brother, which was like getting blood from a stone, I need it back tommorrow, dont lose it, dont be late, dont forget etc..
I got up to where Gollum was fishing for a ring.......and pooof, the DVD blew up. Now then Im not too bothered about the player, the shop will swap it for a new one, but I cant get the frickin DVD disc out!
My bro wants it for a family gathering tonight, how can I get it out?
The DVD player is a PACIFIC from Asda , it has its standby light on but no functions work.
Ill give it an hour then attack it with a hammer........
Later Yoza

unplug it from the mains!
Leave it for an hour and then take the cover off, usually only a few phylips screws. That should give you access to the mechanism to eject the DVD.
You can normally wind them out by manually moving the gears used for eject.
Failing that, big hammer.

Upto now I have prized the DVD door flap off, which was poinless. The flap came off but the DVD was still in its cradle deep inside the bowels of the machine.
The screws holding the case together are Philips screws and 'stardrives' or 'torx bits' I havent got the tools.
Good advice 'turn the mains off', I will do that next time Im fishing around inside the machine with a butter knife.
Hammer at the ready.........

As for the Sky it was a telly tuning problem, which seems to be now sorted.
I went out on the lash after the Grinch, and I am now not too gtood.
I would love to tell you the full SP but some strange **** happened tonight.
