Where has the fun gone, they have up the power to 16V which means they are highly quick and accelerate at the speed of light but they know have such strong magnets and tyres whicg grip like mad that you stick to the track right up to the limit and then it just flies off. What happened to the days of the back end swinging out when you get close to the limit

I know what you mean mate, I hate the cars with magnets as they are so un-natural.

It was only when I was packing to move that I realised how many scalectrix cars I had!

What about a Scoobynet Challenge of Scalectrix?

Any takers?

Years ago i had a TCR (total control racing) set which was way better, you could change lane at the flick of a switch (tailgate in slipstream), this dissapeared somewhere and i never bothered for years. I then bought a scalextric set off ebay about a year ago, took ages to set it up, played with it for about 5 mins before packing it up and chucking it in the loft

I had a TCR system too, very very cool and the lane changing was great, could could try it with another car along side and try to bash it. we'd removed some of the edges of the track so you could push the other car right off hehehe

i *think* this is the set I had
