I *think* it's illegal to have them illuminated when the vehicle is moving. you might want to pop over to 5ive-o and ask on there. It's a motoring bbs with a blue tint, very helpful advice on issues like this.

If I can prevent just one sad lonely driver away from the perils of neon than my work is done, and my coment will stand as a valid one and be more than constructive!

Can't actullay see anything wrong with neons, was going to have some red ones on the wagon, but never got round to it. Some like em, some don't.

I think the point of this thread was not about if they are "cool" or not, but whether it is legal to have them on the car in the first place, which is a very good point, I don't think most of the people with neons have considered this little factor, and I think it's an important one, saves you getting pulled over for having an illegal car.

If you're going to do it, then I'd choose another colour than red.

There's a specific offences of showing a red light to the front. Some "colleague" - your neons could be interpreted as contravening this law.

Just my opinion.
