I've just ordered sky+ this morning for £99 plus £1 installation...it is going to be installed early feb! I'm also an existing customer with a standard sky box.
I phoned 0870 2423256 and quoted ref number USKPBTAA...and had no problems. Existing box will be left with me, as I own it, and didn't want installation in another room. That would have been free, with only an extra £10 subs fee.
If you want one get in quick...they have about 1500 refurbed ex-demo units to get rid of. Full 12 month warranty and upgraded to current spec. Not many left I understand!![/[/blue]quote][/blue]
Ive been wanting this for some time now but the price has been putting me off.
I ordered Sky+ this morning and it will be fitted on early feb.
It is a friends and family of staff offer but tbh they dont really ask - you just say a friend of your works for sky and he told you about it. (if they ask - i wasnt asked tho)
I reckon this is bargain of the century

Wouldnt that mean having to watch recorded programmes in the bedroom though - might be impractical?
Edited to say:
Didnt read your reply correctly. What I should have said was:
Would that work, ie possible different connections / do they both require a viewing card and wouldnt sky disable the existing card after installing sky+?

I'm sure there just a single screwed coax in (sorry not a cable guy
)unless it needs 2 lnb's and there for 2 cables going to box i can't see why not, ask the engineer when they come out to install, they've always seemed the best people to ask anyways, monkeys and organ grinders springs to mind

You get a quad LNB which has 4 connections.
2 cables go from the LNB to the Sky+ box to give you the ability to record one channel and watch or record another channel at the same time.
If you move the original Sky box to another room then you run a third cable from the LNB to that box to allow you to use that box as you did before (assuming you take 2nd subscription).
Cheers

Does anyone know the lowest subscription price for sky plus ??
I only have a basic package because I can't be bothered to keep watching bits of films lol.
I currently pay £18 PM and have more cannels tha I know what to do with.

Normally £199 + £50 install.
if u spend over £30 per month, no extra charge for sky+, if under I think its a tenner per month.
cheers simon
