Infringes on human rights if you ask me. How about they pass a law that gives adequate punishment to young oiks instead? Don't see why they should all suffer because of a few ******* outside mcdonalds throwing bottles and taunting the police.

So who is smashing bus stops phone boxes surly all this damage is down to youths. This goverment needs to get a grip on youth disorder and start dishing out more fitting punishment . And get them in door at a certain time

All laws regarding parents punishing children that have been introduced in the last 40 years should be repealed. And the police should be able to dole out thick ears as they used to when I was a kid. I can`t recall seeing a single vandalised bus shelter of phonebox when I was younger. And any kids that were stupid enough to have their parents informed of any wrong doing met high velocity belts and said thank you for it.

Bring back National Service, make it part of the curriculum, they can do 3 years in the army at 16 after school, failing that bring back the death penalty.......

Make parents responsible both financially and otherwise for damage done and violence etc., committed by their children up to the age of 18 yrs. After that hit the offenders with heavy and unpleasant penalties which fit the crime.
Might just start up a bit of parental responsibility for a change.

It's happened already, Hamilton, Scotland.
This is old news but worth a read.

Then all the parents who try really hard to control their wayward young, up to 18, can be hammered too, along with those that don't care.
FFS: kids at 8 or so know the difference between right and wrong. It's the bl**dy kids that want the punishment!!!

Excellent idea making the parents pay, because you will find out that it's only a handfull of kids in each area that cause trouble, so the majority won't have to pay a penny.
My boys 12/14 both go out, as long as there homework is finished, they are told to be in for 8.30pm if there going to be late for what ever reason (bearing in mind we know all the excuses)they will phone home. If they are late and don't call they get grounded at the weekend.
Simple, but works for us

Oh, of course, it's always the "youths" ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
It's nothing at all to do with the 25+ year olds who get kicked out the pub at closing time and try to impress their brainless mates by keying cars/shouting at the top of their voices/smashing windows/phone boxes/nicking house for sale signs etc etc
Always the youths.

Yes...
But if these drunken p!ssheads do get spotted by the police, at least they have powers to exext over the scumbags.
Whether or not they get caught or not is down to the police and then the courts to pass suitable sentences

But some of these little tow rags seem to just play the system.... and win
They dont care whether its right or wrong.
If they do get caught , nothing happens

Perhaps in certain circumstances, ie repeat offenders , age should not be used as a defence.

Akshay.
The point of my post is that if the parents had brought their children up in a responsible manner in the first place, then there would be a great deal less of these problems that the rest of us have to worry about. The system I suggested might impress the importance of supervising your children properly as they grow up and the penalties for allowing them to grow up with no control and no respect for authority. Tell me Akshay, why have these problems increased so seriously in recent years and are continuing to do so at what seems to be an exponential rate. What has changed from earlier times?
The other question of course is whether it is right that law abiding people should have to pay for the damage caused by these mindless hooligans rather than those who are legally responsible for them in the first place?
