![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Here's a question for the Sky+ subscribers here. I've had my box up and running for about a week now however, it will only allow me to record one programme at a time. I was under the impression that it would self-update and allow 2 progs at once.Am I right about this?

Have you had it plugged into your telephone line? The update was done thru this method. Works fine for me (recording 2001 & Paris Dakar as we speak)

I just pressed record on a second channel and hey presto both get recorded.
Didnt have to do a thing - it took care of it all itself.
Mines plugged into phone. Thought upgrade was done through dish ?
Cheers

If you do a 'forced firmware re-flash' then your right, you are initiating the download. If you wanted them to keep doing it automatically you need to be phone hooked up.
Also phone line is a condition of the contract, and they get really up tight if you don't have it plugged in - threaten to cut you off etc etc.

By not having the box connected to the phone line you are breatching (sp) the contract. The reason sky have offers/discount is the on line services available through the telepohne line subserdise some of sky's cost on the gamble the user will use their services. Sky do get very upset if they find out and may threaten to charge you extra as you have not met the contract signed.

1. Unplug the box, leave off for about a minute.
2. Hold down 'Backup' on the front of the box and plug the power lead back in, keep it held and you should see a screen saying 'downloading software' and 'wait 10-15 minutes', you can let go of the backup button here.
3. Leave it to start up again and it should have the new software.
