Getting Sky Digital

We have tried before but the instal man said he couldnt get a decent signal because of all the trees hearabouts and we would have to get a mast to put the dish on, this was rejected on aesthetic grounds (i.e. what the neighbours would say) but less bothered based on what they offend our eyes with nowadays.
Has anybody had to go down this route and was it expensive ?

Was this a Sky installer or one of the local independents? We used a local installer, much better service. They may also be willing to try different dishes for you. A 60cm solid dish and a good LNB may give you the signal strength you require without having to use a mast. You will also get a choice of which Digibox you want.
Sky tend to go for the quickest and cheapest route using a standard minidish and a cheap bit of pole to do the job
Understandable really as they don't give their installers time to tweak the setup, they just want as many installs as possible in one day.
