Difference between surgeon and mechanic
#1
This is apparently a true conversation between a cardiac surgeon and a patient who was a mechanic. After the surgeon had explained the procedure the patient was about undergo for a valve replacement the patient turned to the surgeon and asked why if we do a similar job do you earn significantly more that i do. The surgeon asked him to explain. Well, he said just the other week an i'll car was brought in to me and after examining the car i knew that due to the cambelt snapping the valves had bent so i stripped the head off, cleaned it all, removed the bent valves and rebuilt it back up. I then started the car and ran perfectly. Thats very similalr to what your about to do to me, your going to open me up, inspect my heart and arteries, remove the damaged valve and replace it with a new one therefore i'll be as good as new. I see what you mean replied the surgeon. So why asked the mechanic if our jobs are similar do you earn so much more than me? The surgeon looked at the patient and replied... Try doing it with the engine running.
