Please can i have some advice, just got caught this morning doing 41 in a 30zone. anyway the part where the copper fills in your number plate, he got it wrong put a "M" down not a "W" is the ticket still valid? and i never signed it. Cheers Simon.

Are you sure it was a real policeman? Got your reg wrong, and never checked you'd signed it! I still think you may have to cough up with both your cash & your license ??

If you are sent a summons, you should attend court and plead not guilty, they will have no option but to drop the case if the details are wrong, of course you should not point this out until the hearing.
A friend of mine had one of his company vans photographed, received the summons with oncorrect reg number.
Although the van was clearly sign written with his company name, they had to drop the case as the summons showed an incorrect reg plate which did not match any of his vehicles.
