if you want to be really picky, the two towers where originally conceived as Minas Ithil (Tower of the Moon), fortress city of Isildur and Minas Arnor (Tower of the Sun), fortress city of Anarion.
Minas Ithil fell to the Witch King of Angmar(Lord of the Nazgul) in the Third Age year 2002 and the city was renamed Minas Morgul (Tower of Black Magic). It was also at this time that Minas Arnor was renamed to Minas Tirith(Tower of the Guard).
If you look at the original cover drawing by JRRT of the Two Towers you will see a white tower with a cresent moon above it and a black tower with a star above it.

i'm on about the two main towers which feature in the second movie, ones which is sauramans which is Isenguard i think and the other tower which is in mordor where the eye is, this is the one i want to know the name of!

Sauron's Fortress is Barad-Dur, Isengard (Rohirrim) is Angrenost (Sindarin), and the tower is Orthanc, however the *correct* answer to the names of the two towers is Minas Ithil and Minas Arnor, which are neither of these..
