That time of year again

I was self-employed for 4 months last year, during which I charged a flat monthly rate + expenses in the form of a rate per mile.

I have totalled up all the income, added expenses received on a per mileage basis and taken off the mileage @ 40p per mile as based at home. Got a figure.

What else can I reasonably claim for?

I'm not into ripping the arce out of it, just what might be reasonable. There's no phone aspect to this but I had to buy a fax machine in order to receive them from the company & its suppliers.

For instance, £30 per week for an office within the house? That sort of thing.

We're not talking mega-bucks as it is, just that if I am able to claim (reasonably) for something, its worthwhile doing and the IR would expect it.

Thanks

Cool

Ask at your local tax office, I was amazed at how helpful they were with this sort of thing.
