A mate of mine has a Sharp phone on O2 which is rubbish. He's nearing the end of the contract and wants to move to PAYG once the contract is finished, but the PAYG phone he wants SE T610 is too expensive (£150) to just buy outright.

Is there anyway he can upgrade the phone whilst in his O2 contract? He is fully covered on their own Gold level of insurance.

I know with the Carphone Warehouse Insurance you can upgrade a phone whilst still in contract, or you can choose to end the contract early without a fee.

Does anybody have any good suggestions on how to get this done?

On the Gold tarrifs i think you can have a phone every 6 months as oppossed to the usual 12 months.


I've got a sharp phone on O2 and was thinking of upgrading it to a T610, but after playing with my mates SE on Saturday in t'pub, think i may go for something else now....

Drop it down the bog and when claiming a replacement ask for an upgrade or a different phone that falls into the same price band. Works every time
