Possible Insurance hike

Heard on the news that there could be a rise of 60 quid for insurance. Why? ins co's claim it's necessary to deal with uninsured drivers.
Hmm, don't they make enough money out of us already?
Other ideas would be to get the money by putting up the price of petrol!
Think this is a tad silly as would it not encourage more people to drive uninsured if the costs are even higher?

It seems that the insurance industry is taking a lead from the government in realising that the driver is a bottomless pit of cash to be plundered at will. They know people will pay up. There's nothing to stop them.
