Mobile Email
#1
We have just been read the riot act at work about personal email usage , its all gone a bit Big Brother so I would like to purchase a device that can be used for email when away from home and hopefully replace my mobile, it needs to be a proper keyboard (i.e not like a mobile), not be too huge and be fairly self contained. I dont really do the SMS thing, its just so painful and tedious and I am not thirteen years old !
Any suggestions ?

How about a SE P900? OK, doesn't have a keyboard but has hand writing recognition, and you can get an on screen keyboard and use the stylus pen.
I got mine OFFLINE on ebay for £400.

Hey Jacko, 2 options I reckon... Blackberry as previously mentioned or Phone + PDA...
Different people prefer different things, benfits to both...
Phone and PDA means you don't have to carry something so bulky around, although when you do it's slightly more than the blackberry.. Blackberry doesn't make a great phone but is great for an all in one device..
I use a nokia 6600 for email and have to admit, I do a lot less replying than when I had the blackberry..

Seriously though...Personally, I went phone and PDA. Bought a Tungsten T3 (255UKP) and use a tiny mobile. When going out and about, couldn't deal with a big lump in my pocket.
Also, the T3 is as powerful as a laptop...just hook it up with a wireless keyboard and you're good to go. Check the other thread in the forum out 'ipaq/pdas....'

Blackberry isn't too bad, specially during the day it's more of a pain when your going out in the evening. I actually have about 12 mobile phones.. (I work for voda) so used to change to a smaller one I could leave in my back pocket and not worry about breaking.
I'm debating going down the Tungsten route as I have a mac which it syncs with, also starting to need document support on my emails...
