Help me understand my license and ban?!?

I was looking at my license today because I just received it on the weekend with the endorsement. I am still however not allowed to drive until early Feb 04. (28 day ban)
The code shown is SP30 which acording to the DVLA website is a 3 - 6 point category; however I got a straight ban with a clean license.
Check out the link:

Did I miss something?

Without repeating one of the previous posts that had much interest; the officer claimed he had to travel at 85mph in order to catch up with me... (40mph limit on road)

Sorry, didn't catch the other thread ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I thought anything around / over double the limit was severely frowned upon and could result in a ban (quite easily?).
Probably the reason. Best to just sit it out and learn from it![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Having just read the other thread completely dunno what to say. Your word against theirs I'm afraid![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

wakeboardar, I've just read the whole of the other thread and can understand why this person feels let down by the law given the circumstances.
Unfortunately I think you may be correct in that adeel.a will have to just take it on the chin as there appears to be no evidence to the contrary. You could have phrased it a little nicer though![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
It looks like it comes down to your word against theirs and unfortunately I think the courts may well side on the police in this one (no experience of this though).

Adeel. I may of missed it but at no point did you post what speed you were actually doing.
I got my last points in 1990. So clean since 1993. Does that mean I've been good and haven't broken the speed limit?
Of course it doesn't. What it does mean is that I wasn't caught. And there's the difference. I've done 35 in a 30 zone, and did nearly 140 on a nice clear three lane road (pivate of course). If I had got caught well that was a fair cop.
It's a caculated risk. Most of the time you win and sometimes you lose. On the rare occassion you get totally shafted.
This time you got totally shafted. Driving a Jap imported MR2 turbo with boy racer exhaust certainly didn't help your cause.
Take it on the chin. You were speeding and got shafted.

Hmm... I guess I'm probably going through the shock, rejection, understand and acceptance curve...
Thanks all for those who have mentioned a positive word and given support. It's obviously hard to express everything on a 'forum' hence some of the negative posts...
However, this doesn't stop anyone offering positive advice or support though.
