What type have you looked at abroad?
The only headphone amps I've seen are mains powered such as my Musical Fidelity X-Can V2. It is small enough to carry in a briefcase or something.
What would you be using the headphone amp with? And please don't say headphones.

You've probably found this site anyway, but if not someone here may be able to help you. http://www.head-fi.org/ Ask in the amps forum.
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cg...A-2&type=store could be another option but again from the USA.

Yeah, been to that site folks. That was what got me thinking about how much potential say an iPod might have with really decent earphones and a supplementary amp. They have a classified section so maybe I,ll check that out.
