how have people done this , where did they get the packaging and how much ???????????????

is it easyier to sell to some one who will collect

I've sold a couple and bought a few this way.
Can either tape a couple of cardboard boxes together - often available from supermarkets, and pack with newspaper.
Or cover in bubble wrap, with cardboard protecting the two ends and post. Can buy bubble wrap from some post offices but expensive, or from Staples, Or do what most people do and see what they can scrounge from work.
Can send up to 30Kg for £10.76 through parcel force, but be careful they might have a length limit !!
