Black book is for the trade only mate! think they pay a yearly subscription, and it's not cheap.

It was about £70 a month when I used it years back. The Black Book is CAP, it's only rival. It's slightly cheaper to buy and the values always seem lower in CAP.

Anyone can buy them now days, but you'll have to pay for the years subscription up front. You can get them at any vehicle auction halls, who sometimes will give you the first copy free ....

The Auctions tend to use Cap - The Black book and Traders and the like use Glasses Guide as they give different values.

If you want your credability to stay in tact then dont use Parkers guide as from memory its done by the same people who do theses womans magazines and you'll just get laughed at .............

Glasses guide is what you will more than likely get as a part exchange value for your car. Cap on the other hand is what the trade would expect to pay for a car outright, therefore being cheaper.

Hope this helps.
