Going to Le Mans this year and spending a week, doing a little touring, anyone know any nice places to visit for my good lady and I, we are heading to the western side of France, Loire region and further south along the coast.
Thanks

OK: the Loire meand Chateax, and loads of 'em! Also on the Cher. Some really lovely, some ordinary, but all quite dear to go round, so find a few on the net, and take your pick before visiting.
Chenonceaux is gorgeous, and the one at Usse was the inspiration for the story of the sleeping beauty.
Azay le Rideau is also nice.
Both Orleans and Tours have nice shopping areas, and Blois, although smaller, is pretty with good hotels.

Shopping is out of the question as I have an Elise, and my girlfriend + camping gear for Le Mans.
Any websites on the Chateau's?

Richelieux. Amazing place, history here & now. Derek Google will fill you in.
Mont St. Michel: touristic, but you need to see this once in your life.
Leave ?... Nah.
PS: you can do both places whilst going back for the ferry/train.
PS2: the more you read before going there, the more you will enjoy it. France is quite a country (and no, I'm not French).
Edit: As Daryl said: Rouen is worth a visit as well.

Type R,
If you haven't been to LeMans before take your own loo roll,
Royan and LaRochel are very nice, so is Beeritz (sp), beaches are good for surfing and bodyboarding (equipment avaialble to rent there),
Hope the weather's good for you.
