Question Business Ethics

Hi Everyone,

Just need a little advice re: business ethics. Today at work someone mentioned again an idea they had to make money. They had spoken about this several times before, over the space of a few months but hasn't acted upon it.

I have done the legwork etc and worked it all out and this idea would make at least £100,000 per year, if not double or even triple that for approximatly 3 days a week. It is a unique idea that exists no where else and currently has no barriers to entry but within a few months there will be very little way into this market.

Seeing as he has spoken of it several times, but not acted on it would I be wrong in just going ahead with his idea, as he has no interest in persuing it as he already has more cash than he can spend (ie > £200K per year ( specialist contractor) )

Any thoughts/ideas welcomed

IMO that's personal ethics, not business ethics. Depends more upon your relationship with the individual. Empty vessels make the most noise, etc.

Is it something in which the two of you would be competing if you both wanted to take the idea up? If not then go for it, you're not doing any harm. Personally I'd be wary of any such idea, though - there must be a reason why it's not been done before. (PM me some details and I'll be happy to have a think about it for you!).

I know what exactly what you're thinking of doing.

You can make a lot of money if you follow my rules (flawless)

If you want to know where most people go wrong and lose out, PM me the details and I'll tell you where the suckers fail
