This was on the news yesterday, a teenager took out his fathers 2.8ltr golf VR6, reaching speeds of upto 116mph in a 40 zone, the judge sentenced him to 3 months in a young offenders institution because of the speed he was doing, his defence was that he was going into hospital for an operation the next day and that he wouldnt be able to drive for a few months, now he cant ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

As I understand it, it was a dual carriage way as well. What's the point of having 2 lane dual carriage ways with central reservations etc etc and then having a 40mph limit

I believe it was in a built up area with a school, except that it was late at night but i know what your getting at, still its built up and i doubt you would like to be hit at 116mph staggering home from the pub? ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
