Moving in with someone
A month ago I moved in with b/f.
The property was new to both of us so there has been lots of unpacking over the last few weeks.
I was wondering, when you have moved in with you other halves, how long has it taken you to get settled and used to each other.
We seem to get annoyed with each other nearly every day over cleaning etc.
I know this is teething problems and we have to get used to each others habits, but don't want it to continue forever.

Exactly the same as me and my GF. We moved in together for the first time at the beginning of January. Loads of little battles about washing/cooking other bits of housework etc. Each feeling like the other wasn't doing their share.
Now we are fine, really enjoying each others company and getting on very well. I suppose it just takes a little time for each of you to get used to each other / new surroundings.
My advice? Stick with it Good Luck in your new house

Ages!! We lived in rented for a while, which was mine and he moved in. It was only when we moved to a new house together that our little habbits started showing! When you are about to fall out over something, just ask yourself "will I still care tomorrow/next week/10 years from now?" Probably not. I still ask myself these things, and the answer is usually no, so it gets dropped :-)

Moved in with the g/f nearly 2 years ago. She does the cleaning, cooking and ironing and I watch the TV, just as it should be
Joking aside, we tend to mix and match, she tends to do the cleaning and I tend to do the cooking. I tend to do the outside / DIY stuff and she tends to do the washing and ironing, but I tend to do shirts or anything that needs to be pressed well for either of us. It is a question of finding the balance. If you were in your own places before then you will have had your own routines, you need to find a way to "merge" them so that everything gets done and nonbody is doing more than their fair share.

Yes it takes a while before the female understands her role in life.
The men will soon be able to watch television without having to lift their feet whilst the female does the vacuuming because she'll do it when you are down the pub once she's trained.
Arguing about the cooking can be a problem at first too, especially when she insists on doing it when you are half way through a job on your car and you have to come in to eat it. Again, she'll learn quickly enough.
The other female tasks then become second nature to help keep us males "affair free" from lack of devotion.
Happy days.

children ain't passion killers
I've known my missus (WifeyDoo555) for over 10 yrs (been married for 7 this yr - kids in last 3)
We still argue about the jobs!!! She hates some of my quirks, as do I hers.....
Depends what type of couple you are - if you live in each other's pockets all the time, then it's destined for disaster.
Personally, me and wifey lead independant lives when need be - we're stronger then ever and are getting stronger day by day
Wait till your boyfriend starts walking round the house butt-naked, scratching his ar$e, farting and belching!!
Or starts bringing his mates round for all-night drinking sessions
Tee Hee Hee!!!

3 months I reckon - my self and the soon to be wife have lived together for 3.5 years. She's very bossy - but she works hard to keep the house tidy and does the washing / ironing. I do all exterior work except weeding (garden, car cleaning etc) and the cooking and washing up at weekends .....
It's all about compromise. Chill out - **** like rabbits and buy more wardrobes .....

Have just moved in together (2 weeks ago) and while there are little things that we're having to compromise regarding, mainly we've fitted together very well.
Compromise is the key though. I do the cooking as charcoal doesn't appeal ( ), laundry and stuff, Steve does the outsidey "man-stuff"! We apparently have to get a BBQ so he can charcoal things outside now. We both do the washing up, cleaning and vacuuming, so it works very well for us.

My other half sort of moved herself in without telling me.....
One day I went in to my spare bedroom (never usually go in there) and found it full of everything she owns (bit like a huge walk in wardrobe....)
We share the housework, she likes cooking so tends to do that and i do as little as possible.
Have never really argued though......both quite easy going.

Danbo - bit like me and the g/f, lived together nearly 2 years, been going out 3 and not had a row yet. Both the same, very chilled, takes a lot to send us off on one, reckon it is gonna be a real messy one when we do finally have a ruck

lol
different but similar I live with 2 other blokes and 1 of them in particular winds me up with his messines EVERY day without fail, infact sometimes he just has to open his mout to annoy me! I have learned to ignore him / stop tidying up after him / ignore him etc etc
It can be tough to start with, but its best not to let it get to you.

Its different for every couple, you're two different people trying to occupy the same space, trying to make sure you maintain your own identities, and generally dealing with the a slight loss of privacy too.
Ive lived with three previous girlfriends (and might add I now have my own place, and love it!!), and each one was very different, and required a different approach to make things run smoothly. Just be aware you have to both be flexable, its about establishing your space, not always easy, and it'll either get better, or you'll break up over it.
The absolute best advice I can give is relax, and try enjoy the experience, the only reason to move in with your other half is because it will add something positive to your life, so if you arent enjoying it, something needs to change.
I found that being very cool about all the little things that would normally prompt me to make a remark or something, made it a lot easier, and you slowly make eachother aware of what p1sses you off, rather than letting everything get to you, and arguing constantly about every little thing all at once. Give eachother a break, if something annoys you, approach it in a humourour way, rather than an aggressive way.
Well, good luck, hope it works for you, if not, and you fancy a one night stand, stop by mine, no way you're moving in the next day thou, lol
