I know this probably comes up regulary, however not sure if anyone has any ideas.
I thought the police had to notify would be court appearances (for speeding) within 6 months of the date of the offence.
i got caught speeding (fair cop guv!) on 2nd August last year. As january 31 came and went i thought i was in the clear.........ha!
i just received today a no-date court summons post marked 23rd feb for next week. there is a date on an attachment of 31 january!!!
cheeky b*ggers, i spose they can state that it took 3 weeks to process, and then in the post for a week?
do you think i have any leg to stand on, or take it like a man?
any ideas? i have checked pepipoo but no ideas on there!

Yes they do indeed have six months to serve the papers in court. outside that time I understand it is prohibited as an abuse of process.
i suggest you post up on pepipoo for some advice, ultimately it is best to see a solicitor.
