I've got a 550 and a Road Angel. The 550 has never let me down, and is very useful as the RA warns you all the time about just about everything... (accident blackspots, cameras that used to be there, etc.), so the 550 verifies it.

Every gatso in Oxfordshire gets a beep from the RA, but the 550 is yet to find a working one

Wink

I have been using a Bell euro 550 for the past 2 years. Have had absolute no problems, I find it gives much more range than a previos detector that I had (Snooper). It even tells you where to get your Optimax.

I've had one for over a year. Very pleased with it - certainly the best of the non-GPS detectors. It does give a few false alarms in towns, which did annoy me a little, which was the main reason for upgrading to a Road Angel. Other than that, it was very effective at picking up Gatso's.

So if you are interested, I do have a 550 available - boxed in 'as new' condition with all the bits / cables etc. Drop me an email / PM if you are interested. It cost me over £300, but I would take £170 for it.

Setting the mode to City All means that false alarms, i.e. supermarkets etc, the detector only beeps once and thats it, unless the signal is stronger which then it alerts i.e. camera/radar

I'd hardly say that was justification for swopping to a road angel, beltronics have always produced one of the best detectors on the market

Thought you'd altered the setup to remove troublesome bands etc.
