A short while ago my girlfriend's car was involved in an accident since which the other party has admitted full liability and the insurance company has processed the claim and we have arranged to take the car into one of their approved repair agents for repair. Just a quick query regarding the policy excess. What is the norm, do we normally pay the garage direct for the excess amount and then the insurance company pay us direct or do the garage get their payment direct?
Thanks
David

If the third party has admitted full liability, and they have arranged for it to go into their repairers, then you shouldn't have to pay the excess. Or thats what happened to me. (their insurers was directline).
