Default H7 type bulb question ???

Have just tried ordering a replacment set off uprated headlamp bulbs for my wifes hyundai coupe, year 02 ( 96-02 ) range, now after confirming that the bulb required was this two pin H7 type, the seller now askes me what type bulb the dipped beam bulb is ?? when I replied back saying that there was only one bulb within the headlamp unit so surely this bulb will cover both main and dipped beam ?? I was told that he was surprised that this H7 was for both these main / dipped light purposes.

why ?? surely a single headlamp bulb again H7 in my case can cover both ??
he is starting to confuse me now !!!

anyone clarify the situation ????

cheers,
john...

H7 is a single-filament bulb so will not do both dip and main beam. If there's only one bulb in the unit, I'd be surprised if it's not an H4, which is a twin-filament bulb.

Lightbulb

If your bulb has only two pins, there's another bulb lurking in there that you haven't found yet
