Surely the the time it takes to bounce the time off a load of servers, through the phone network, and maybe off the odd satelite will make it a little slow to the "actual" time at GMT??

most of the universities run ntp servers.
I use Manchesters for mine as they allways have a server up.
the inventor of ntp a guy from cambridge university keeps a list of active stratum servers

Need something to view on pc or set watch by as going to be shutting down some mainframes on clock change day and want to ensure exact correct UTC when i bring them back up again as they're spread around 18 European countries and all need to be the same time (min/secs obviously not hours,lol)
