I am in the market to buy a digital slr, not a high spec one like the Eos 1D(S). Been looking at the Nikon D70 and pretty set on getting it. Does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price in UK?

I wouldn't have thought you'd get one anywhere yet.....

You could go for a Canon 300D now, or wait a month or so for the Nikon.

Yep, early summer for the D70. Expect to pay around £800 for body only, i.e. add your lens cost on top if you are not already a Nikon SLR user.

Or you could go for a Canon 300D with kit lens for around £840 right now.

I thought it was really strange that Nikon have NOT made a vertical grip for the D70. They did for the D100 though.

I have also read a review that the iso range only starts at 200.

I doubt you'll see any price reductions until demand tails off a bit.....
