Anybody else watch this? Im a fan of his anyway, but the way he goes about his life altering dis-ability is at the very least inspirational. Refuses to let himself feel down, still maintatins a sense of humour and a pragmatism that is fantastic. Doctors told him 18 months till you can walk. He did it in 3!
I remember seeing him at the first awards ceremony after his accident, can picture him standing there, he got a standing ovation and it brought a lump to my throat. Same as seeing him complete the 13 laps in a Cart car in Germany. (At a speed that would have seen him qualify 6th!!!) All the fans waving to him.
Guys a bloody hero

I don't have those extra channels.
Would have loved to have seen how he is getting on. Maybe they will put it on BBC2 at some point.
Sounds like he has a huge amount of determination.

Forgot to watch this so will hopefully catch it again. As you say the man is a hero in every sense of the word.

It was very good. They showed the crash again - how he survived that I'll never know. The amazing thing was that the doctors reckoned it would take him 18 months before he could walk - he did it in 3 months.
I think most people would have given up, but his will power and determination are staggering. He'll probably go and win the Touring Car championship in Europe now!
A truely amazing bloke and a genuine inspiration.
I hope they show the programme again.

Great spirit, superb drive but lets not go overboard on what the doctors supposedly told him. They can hardly know the genuine timescales but I guess sensationalism is what it's all about.
I've heard so much cráp about how spinal injured patients were apparently told they wouldn't walk again when in reality if you are injured "properly" you won't, a complete lesion is just that, complete.
Zanardi suffered terrible injuries but was always going to walk in 3 months because he did.
