I used to be a Dancer in Vegas Does that count?
My Dad is a senior Ultrasonic Tester for Balfour Beatty (sp?), basically means he performs ultrasonic tests on railway tracks to check for cracks and other deficiences. Not really interesting, but different

I examine electronic-based evidence in the Computer Crime Unit, at West Yorkshire Police. Paedophiles? I have to gather the evidence to prosecute them.
....amongst other things.

I buy bits to make planes, granted its not the same as flying them, but once you've seen how their held together, flying becomes something you'd rather avoid
And that goes for fighters & civil

I fit 1200 dustcaps per shift.
My fingerprints on my right thumb and index finger have worn out.
Which is handy.
I love my job, its interesting, and challenging, whenever I see an X Type jag theres a 50% chance that I have professionally and lovingly fitted the dustcaps.
Im also so good at it, I can do it without looking.......
On a more serious note: 'Someone' does have to do it, they also blow the tires up, one on each side of the line, I think they alternate for the spare which is a space saver.. A high pressure job.

I'm a motorcycle journalist.
But I used to be a helicopter pilot in the Royal Marines. And worked as a civil test/development pilot for a couple of overseas companies trying to develop helicopters for sale to NATO.
So I reckon I've had the best jobs in the world
SB
Edited to add that I've worked in IT as well...
